This is my go-to place. The noodles are much better than Cafe juba. I saw them gutting it and I freaked out but they said they were just remodeling now the number doesn't work. there's a sign on it for different restaurant and I'm panicking. I always called and asked for Mash where am I going to get my food now????

The food they served today was done in a combo box style. It's two meat/entree toppings on top of your choice of rice. There's the "regular" rice, a rice that has more condiments, and a spinach veggie mix. There's no menu so you get a little tour by the person at the counter what the various toppings are. There's chicken suqaar, beef suqaar, salmon, curry, and a couple of others. Pretty standard Somali restaurant menu. There's two Styrofoam boxes attached to the wall to let you know the price of a typical chicken/beef suqaar combo (~$16), so I expected the addition charge when I asked for the salmon and curry. Lime is provided as a condiment by request. Overall the total was a bit over $18 and I feel like the serving was enough for two meals. The service was okay and there's plenty of room to park (it shares a parking lot with a Subway). There wasn't a place to sit at so with both restaurants being order to go, the parking lot is almost empty. The food was good. The salmon was somewhat dry. The curry was well balanced and spicy like the owner said (he said it was a little bit spicy but I guess that is relative). The rice was probably my favorite part. Almost sweet, slightly savory, and soaked in the flavor of cardamom. There were some strands of onion peel in the meal, but I guess that's just something that adds to the experience.

Great Afro-Asian cuisine local spot! I'd highly recommend stopping by when you're in the area, my group is hiking Mount Rainier and we stopped by for their breakfast. Owners were super nice! Ordered the chicken sugar with anjero, salmon fish, and chicken legs. Super tasty!

The food was amazing. I highly suggest the goat dinner plate. One was enough to feed two people. I can't wait to go back and try their breakfast menu.

The restaurant is small, intimate and lovely. Patrons seemed to have a familiarity in the space and it was warm and inviting. Overall the food was good, yet the meat dishes was inconsistent with texture and chewiness. We truly enjoyed the soup and highly recommended it. You can order either rice or spaghetti as a side dish. Next time we prefer to order the rice.

Not sure what genre of food afro Asian is, but it's darn good. Nothing really Asian about it besides maybe Indian spices. Also not my first time eating east African dishes. They are often heavier on the carbs than most Asian or African restaraunts that I visit. From what I can tell this is an African owned / ran restaraunt. The workers here have Some of the best vibes I've experienced in an African restaraunt. Top 3 or 5 experience. I orded the chicken Kat kati and the spicy beef ugali. Absolutely amazing. They were out of the normal bitter bread for the kati, but they improvised and used a pita style bread instead. It wad good, but not as good as the regular kati. The beef ugali was amazing and very spicy. You almost have to mix everything it comes with to mask some of the spice. I ended up taking the rest home and remaking it with eggs for breakfast. Yes yes yes it was amazing for breakfast the next day. Maybe even better as a breakfast to be honest. Giving these guys only 4 stars was not easy for me since the service was spot on and the food was also spot on. Don't expect anything fancy while dining in. The actual dine in experience is what made me lower the score. The inside needs so more love and attention. The water, I couldn't even bring myself to pour a glass to drink as it was in a plastic pitcher that was almost empty and had been sitting there for who knows how long. Very warm water. Yuck. The food was so good and priced so right I'm almost tempted to ignore the dine in aspect and give them a 5 since I know I've given places a 5 even with worse interiors. But those places also had billiards and etc so it's hard to lower a dive bar looking spot for being a dive bar. This place is not a dice bar. Very bright and no games, but they did have the TV on with nba games playing.

This is as "hole in the wall" as it gets. Bit of a language barrier, tiny, and parking tough. But the lamb shank was dead on with great spices. Very reasonably priced. Entrees include soup rice salad - for $17. Be aware - they have heartburn with byob- not sure why. I asked b4 we went but still got a admonishment.? Drank the open bottle lol.

Headed to South Africa for vacation, so I had to try some local recipes before I go so I could verify the authenticity later. Kilimanjaro sauce is lightly sweet. Buffalo sauce adds a little heat. Jalapeño sauce adds a lot of heat, and can be cooled down with the Ranch sauce. The little potato balls are only made in the morning, so come early before they sell out. Good experience. Will be back.
